Sedation Dentistry

SEDATION DENTISTRY

With sedation dentistry solutions at The Rise Dental practice in Vancouver, patients can undergo longer and more difficult dental procedures while remaining completely comfortable and relaxed.

With oral sedation, patients are only required to take one small pill, which allows patients to become sedated just enough to become completely relaxed and unaware of the treatment. You will wake up refreshed and with no memory of the dental procedure.

Oral Sedation FAQ:

Will I feel any pain during the procedure?
Oral sedation involves taking a small pill prior to treatment. You will have little or no memory after taking this pill, allowing you to relax and forget any sounds, smells or pain involved in the dental procedure. Our team will work to guarantee that your treatment will be entirely pain-free.

Will I be asleep/unconscious?
No, instead you will be in a deep, relaxed state. You will be able to respond to the dental team if necessary.

How long will I be in this relaxed state?
This will depend on the dosage you take; it can last from two to six hours straight.

Will I be monitored?
Our specially trained team of professionals will always be with you, constantly checking your vital signs and monitoring your condition. You will never be left alone throughout the entire procedure.

Can I drive myself home?
Unfortunately, no. Due to the heavy sedation effects, you will need someone to drive you to our office and home again.
